Cembrane SiC membranes are widely applied in a number of industrial water treatment applications such as pretreatment to reverse osmosis or nano filtration. Our new generation ceramic membranes provide durability, less maintenance, and an average operating life of more than 20 years. Moreover, these membranes enable filtration of fluids, where organic and other ceramic membranes fall short, such as the presence of high or low pH, solvents, polymers, and oxidants.
The durability is evident in their low fouling tendency, with long backwash frequencies and the ability to withstand periodic high-sludge loadings up to 50,000 ppm without clogging. The membranes enable high-pressure backwash, high-pressure cleaning and back pulse, and a chemical resistance permitting cleaning with harsh chemicals. That means they can always be regenerated. In addition, the membranes have one of the highest flux rates of any membrane material, giving it an exceptionally low packing density and thereby limited tank footprint.
